The Executive Director for the Bend FC Timbers is a full-time position, which reports to the BFCT Board of Directors. The ED shall work in collaboration with all staff, volunteers, and directors to ensure that the mission and objectives for the club are carried out.

Establish and consistently disseminate a compelling mission and vision statement that will serve as a touchstone for all Club priorities and activities.
Develop and maintain a strategic plan that supports our mission and vision and sets out clear goals and objectives for BFCT’s annual work plan.
Conduct an annual survey of all key BFCT constituents to understand BFCT’s strengths, weaknesses and opportunities in order to continuously improve
Support a management culture of excellence, accountability, empowerment, and respect.
Seek, evaluate, and act upon opportunities for innovation, growth, and improvement.
Identify, develop, and maintain key relationships in the community that are necessary for the success of BFCT.
Constantly communicate via all channels to all constituents about the direction, successes, and challenges of BFCT.
#2 CORE RESPONSIBILITY—MANAGEMENT/OPERATIONS
The Executive Director will work collaboratively with staff and the Directors to grow existing programs, evaluate the value of all programs, and develop new program opportunities.
Collaborate with the Director of Coaching on strategies for the competitive soccer programming and ensure the strategy is executed by the entire organization
Collaborate with the Director of Operations on strategies for the recreation soccer programming and ensure the strategy is executed by the entire organization
Collaborate with the entire staff to grow the long-term revenue and profitability of our club by expanding and improving the performance of our camps, clinics, and tournaments
At this time the ED has direct supervisory responsibility for the Director of Operations, the Club Administrator and the Campaign Coordinator/Assistant. The ED will be responsible for reviewing current staffing and developing a more ideal staff structure for BFCT with appropriate coverage for all key functions.
Recruit, develops and retain a capable staff and manage its performance effectively through clear job descriptions, periodic feedback, training, and performance reviews.
Develop and formalize Club policies for hiring and promoting paid staff including hiring process, employment contracts, continuing education requirements, etc.
Operate in compliance with all employment, anti-discrimination and record-keeping laws and requirements including state and local regulations.
Leverage and grow volunteer resources and opportunities to achieve the club’s mission and goals.
Collaborate with the Board of Directors (Finance Committee?) and Director of Coaching to establish a budget
Actively manage BFCT budget including monthly cash flow, and proactively address budgetary issues with the Board of Directors (Finance Committee?)
Develop and follow BFCT financial policies in accordance with sound fiscal practices and legal requirements
Arrange and oversee the production of financial statements, tax reports, audits and other legal documents and filings required by federal, state, and local laws
Manage club financial assistance and scholarship programs to provide the maximum level of playing opportunities for players from disadvantaged backgrounds
FIELDS, FACILITIES AND EQUIPMENT
Lead team of Club staff, Board members and community leaders to establish and execute long term plan for maintenance and future expansion of our soccer facility.
Evolve and formalize inventory management system to track Club-owned equipment and implement plan for appropriate replacement over time.
Support efficient scheduling of fields and facilities for practices, matches and tournaments
SPONSORSHIP AND FUNDRAISING
In collaboration with the Board of Directors, implement a strategic plan to increase the level of sponsorship and donated funds to the club by developing a sponsorship package and identifying potential donors.
Ensure that new and existing sponsors achieve the expected value of their sponsorship.
Establish positive relationships with major donors, government agencies and philanthropic foundations in order to cultivate and solicit support for BFCT.
Oversee special event fundraising activities
COMMUNITY RELATIONS AND MARKETING
Work collaboratively with the Director of Coaching and the Board President to represent BFCT in the community, serving as the chief spokespersons and ambassadors to the media and stakeholders
Collaborate with Board of Directors and Director of Coaching to develop and execute all marketing, communication, and branding strategies.
Ensure effective use of information technology for Club communications including appropriate platforms, integrated systems for online distribution and consistent and effective use of key Club and member information.
Ensure redundant access for all technology platforms is available to the Board and the Club Staff
Serve as liaison to local and national youth soccer organizations and other leagues our teams may compete in.
The Executive Director of BFCT attends the open meetings of the BFCT Board but they are not a voting member.
Support the meeting organization and logistics for the BFCT Board and committees
Work jointly with the Board to develop strategies for achieving the mission, goals, and financial viability of the organization
Jointly with the President and Secretary of the Board, conducts official correspondence for the organization and executes legal documents appropriately
Provides suitable and timely information to the board about key issues for discussion, analysis and decision making that allows the Board to support the BFCT mission.
Preference for candidates with demonstrated leadership, management, and communications skills within a non-profit organization.
Proven leader of people with the ability to build relationships with Club families/customers, staff, board members, sponsors, local community, and government.
Ability to think strategically and translate strategic goals and requirements into quantifiable annual plans, and measurable group and individual objectives
Effective interpersonal, networking and marketing skills; proven experience leveraging in-person, online, social media, and other communications to advance Club’s position.
Success in recruiting, developing, managing, and retaining volunteers and staff.
Collaborative leadership style that inspires and motivates staff as well as Club members.
Highly ethical character and personal integrity; ability to align staff and volunteers with Club values.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekend events.
Bachelor’s degree required, ideally in business, nonprofit management, sports administration, or related management field.
The ED will not be assigned any coaching duties
The specific short and long terms goals that will be used to evaluate the ED performance will be developed and adopted annually in collaboration with the BFCT Board of Directors.

We are the largest youth soccer organization in Central Oregon and are proud to be
partners with the Portland Timbers.
Bend FC Timbers has been our official club name since 2013, however our soccer
club has been in central Oregon since the late 90’s, thus providing a long-standing
framework for players in our community. Our affiliation with the Portland Timbers
puts us in elite company with 7 other Timbers Alliance clubs from around the
Northwest. Our clubs not only share the Timbers brand, but Alliance members work
together to help facilitate a better level of soccer for all members.
Approximately 4,000 soccer players wear the crest of BFCT. We are proud members
of Oregon Youth Soccer Association. Our 36 competitive teams participate in OYSA
leagues, while our recreational players compete in our very own fall and spring
leagues. We take great pride in finding a level of soccer for all players in ...Central
Bend FC Timbers is overseen by our Board of Directors who manage five full-time
staff members and approximately 25 licensed and professional coaches.
