Senior Development Coordinator - Principal/Leadership Gifts

As a member of the Principal/Leadership Gifts Team, the Senior Development Coordinator will provide strategic administrative and operational support within a team environment whose primary objective is to secure and steward private support from Iowa State’s most high level and generous donors. This position is fast paced with a highly visible work product and key interactions with campus administration.
Serve as a key liaison with university administrators on a number of topics related to fundraising.
Coordinate schedules and prepare itineraries, briefing documents, and biographical information for the university and ISU Foundation Leadership on fundraising-related activities.
Coordinate timely follow up on gifts, visits and other interactions between donors and the university leadership.
Coordinate donor strategy meetings, including scheduling, attending, and capturing next steps and plans during the meeting for entry into the system.
Development of agendas and coordination of meeting materials for the unit staff.
Assist with creating, updating, defining, and documenting best practices/procedures within the unit while applying innovative ways of thinking.
Assist with the annual development of the principal/leadership gifts budget and oversee unit budget on an ongoing/monthly basis.
Education & Work Experience
Bachelor’s degree or appropriate years of experience at a comparable level relating to the duties required of this position. 8 years of professional experience or combination of relevant education and/or demonstrated work experience.

Excellent professional communication (both written and verbal).
Excellent customer service skills with internal and external partners, shows initiative and proactive problem solving.
Attention to detail, accuracy, proofreading, and editing is key for this role, especially in logistics planning.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite of applications.
Ability to troubleshoot complex scenarios and provide options for solutions.
Work hours 8am to 5pm, due to coordination with the hours of university offices.
Quick turnaround (24 hours or less) on requests from the university leadership or their respective staff.
