This position will serve as the assistant to the faculty at NYU School of Law and will support, institutes, committees, programs and conferences. The position will encompass a wide range of clerical, secretarial and general office duties, from managing calendar, contacts, meetings, travel, and academic courses, to assisting with expense tracking, staff and student onboarding, and events logistics.
A successful candidate will be proactive, detailed orientated, able to work with a wide range of people including those at senior levels, and interested in contributing to an organization with a public safety mission.
Required Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
2 years of full-time office experience.
Experience providing a high level of customer service and working with a team in a dynamic environment.
Experience providing a high level of administrative support at the executive level.
Experience working in nonprofits or start up environments.
Experience working in academic institutions, preferably at the university or law school level.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel especially)
Advanced proficiency with Google applications (Gmail, Groups, Forms, Sheets, Slides especially)
Familiarity with PCs and Macs; familiarity with Adobe Acrobat DC
Familiarity with cloud-based file management systems (Box, DropBox, Google Drive)
Familiarity with video and audio conferencing systems (Zoom especially)
Excellent communication, writing, and speaking skills.
Extreme attention to detail and excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work efficiently and accurately.
Exceptional attention to detail.
Experience with or comfort with financial work, such as travel expense reimbursements.
Ability to communicate with individuals at all levels from undergraduate students to CEOs/Chiefs of Police.
Ability to manage up and set priorities with minimal supervision.
Ability to incorporate feedback and quickly adapt to new systems and policies.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Familiarity with procurement and/or payment systems.
Familiarity with learning management systems (such as Brightspace).
Familiarity with highly matrixed organizations.
