The Membership Associate integrates knowledge of membership demographics and trends, and utilizes technological tools to further the goals and initiatives of AAPM&R. This position will work with the Membership Manager to provide project support for the Member Services Team. Through both projects and external customer interaction, this position serves as a resource to the Academy by enhancing member and prospect awareness, accurately and efficiently processing data, and collecting experiences and insights that drive the refinement of communications to members and potential members that highlight the most relevant and valuable information for the audience. This position takes on a lead role in numerous business initiatives and provides support through experienced front-line customer interaction and requires in depth operational knowledge of multiple member resources. In addition, the Membership Associate must have specific knowledge of Academy membership and broader knowledge of membership resources, including a basic understanding of department-specific job functions and responsibilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Serve as lead on various membership related projects in assistance to the Member Services Team, and as directed by Membership Manager.
Process applications for membership, Annual Assembly registration, and other types of applications as needed.
Extensively utilize AMS system to further business initiatives, utilizing processing, record keeping and reporting functionality, as well as suggesting improvements for system optimization.
Create and maintain accurate customer data (contact information, CME, orders, membership applications, renewals, reinstatements, or status changes etc.) in IMIS, QMS, LMS and other systems as needed.
Effectively collaborate within and across departments to achieve both departmental and organizational goals.
Support Membership Manager in facilitating membership initiatives that that require member/customer interaction (e.g., dues and data integrity, calling campaign and more)
Maintain and convey knowledge of Academy’s membership model and member resources (e.g., membership information, clinical and practice educational products, volunteer opportunities.)
Anticipate questions and provide timely, accurate information to members to assist with their understanding of the value of membership in AAPM&R.
Conduct initial trouble shooting and documentation of potential issues that inhibit customer satisfaction to support Membership Manager with solution development.
Assist in initiatives related to sales/upgrade opportunities for additional products and/or services.
Serve as back up customer service support when coverage is needed.
Tend to on-site business requirements such as gathering mail and overseeing the entrance of visitors on a schedule with team.
Other duties as assigned, which could evolve based on changing business needs.
Non-Exempt Hourly 37.5 hours a week
We are currently working 100% remotely with plans to return to the Rosemont, IL office on a hybrid schedule. Must have access to the Rosemont, IL office.

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
One or more years of experience in a business administrative/clerical and/or customer service role. Experience in a membership association or similar organization is preferred, but not a requirement.
