The HIV Vaccine Trials Network (HVTN) Laboratory Center is part of an international collaboration of scientists and educators searching for effective and safe vaccines. The HVTNs mission is to facilitate the process of testing preventive vaccines against HIV/AIDS and related infectious diseases. The organization conducts all phases of clinical trials from evaluating experimental vaccines for safety and the ability to stimulate immune responses through to testing vaccine efficacy. The Laboratory Center is responsible for carrying out the scientific agenda of the HVTN by conducting laboratory based studies to evaluate the immunogenicity of investigational vaccines.
The HVTN Lab Data Coordinator II assists the Data Manager in monitoring study sample acquisition and distribution, as well as management and coordination of clinical trial data including the data generated from laboratory assays.
Prepare all lab worksheet documentation for testing in the Endpoint and R&D laboratories.
Track incoming sample shipments and work with repository once samples are received in order to prepare for lab testing.
Perform data uploads to the HVTN Statistical and Data Management Center (SDMC) and to outside collaborators.
Perform data reconciliation within reports received from the SDMC.
Repository backup for pulling samples for the laboratories.
Processing of epitope mapping and ELISpot data.
Help develop data management group SOPs and other documentation as needed.
Lead on overall organization of data management group files.
Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Bachelor degree required.
1-2 years of data entry experience, preferrably in a research setting.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word required.
Knowledge of other data softwares desired.
Some experience in lab/medical setting desired.
Takes direction well.
Great communications skills.
Flexible in a changing work environment.
