In this role, you will be responsible for the management and execution of integrated marketing and communications strategies and promotional campaigns for IDSA’s membership, meetings, services and the public.
In conjunction with Director of Public Relations and Marketing, develop and implement marketing and communications campaigns to increase member awareness of the Society’s benefits, services, events and initiatives and increase engagement with IDSA.
Serve as managing editor of IDSA News. In conjunction with Editorial Director, plan, write, edit and oversee production and distribution of the newsletter and other member communications. Explore new formats to make optimal use of evolving technologies for providing information tailored to member preferences based on data and analytics.
Lead a cross-functional team of staff in the development and implementation of IDWeek marketing campaigns.
Write, develop, manage and produce other communications vehicles directed to members and the public, including, but not limited to, news releases, e-mails, web content, promotional publications, brochures, speeches and talking points, as needed.
Work with Director of Membership to develop and execute marketing and communications plans for programs such as the annual Society Awards and FIDSA application process.
Work with Director of Membership to develop and execute recruitment and/or renewal campaigns.
In collaboration with Digital Technology and Strategy team, collect and leverage data and analytics to measure communications and marketing performance and adjust strategy and tactics to maximize effectiveness.
Develop social media content for marketing campaigns, and work with Digital Media Manager on distribution.
Write and schedule content for the IDSA section of the Daily News Briefing, maximizing marketing opportunities available through the publication.
Create or manage, in coordination with Digital Media Manager and/or external graphic designer consultants, the graphics and brief marketing videos to support marketing campaigns.
Manage acquisition and remarketing campaigns
Manage IDSA’s Events Promotion Program
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent experience
Five years’ experience in marketing, communication, and/or member communications programs
Nonprofit experience preferred
Strong preference for marketing an communications experience in health care, infectious diseases, and HIV
Excellent written and oral communication
Strong familiarity with AP style
Excellent spelling, grammar, and proofreading skills
A working understanding of social media mediums, as well as new and emerging communications technologies
Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and organizational skills
Ability to juggle multiple projects on multiple deadlines
Proficiency with Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Google Analytics or other analytics software.
Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, iMovie, Spark Video and other design software preferred
Ability to travel about 5% of the time for meetings and conferences
