As part of UA, the Prospect Development Manager in the Office of Prospect Research & Management (OPRM) is responsible for a variety of research and prospect management activities in support of the fundraising efforts of UA. The person in this role performs research and data entry, and audits/updates the constituent relationship management database (CRM), improving integrity of data related to research and prospect management. This position reports to the Associate Director of Prospect Management and Analytics.

Monitors and maintains the integrity of data related to research and prospect management, including prospect portfolios, Plans and Opportunities in Blackbaud CRM's prospect pipeline, contact reports, constituent information and research deliverables
Assists OPRM and development staff to improve and maintain data quality in order for them to keep accurate, consistent, and complete records of the development staff's interactions with constituents and other data and/or documents within the CRM
Builds and runs queries, exports, lists, merges, and reports of constituent, gift, and prospect management data according to parameters developed in cooperation with the OPRM team
In coordination with the OPRM team, identifies prospective donors to maintain a pool of leads for monitoring and referral to development staff
Audits and updates missing or out-of-date donor and prospect information in the CRM
Assists OPRM with prospect research and management efforts, conducting wealth screenings, entering results in the CRM, and recording prospect data according to standard policies, best practices, and established procedures
Trains and advises development staff to navigate the CRM to find research data and prospect management information and promote best practices for data-driven major gift fundraising
Provides user support for the CRM, acting as a 'help desk' for the development team
Consistently operates with internal transparency and external confidentiality
Analyzes portfolios and prospect plans and follows up with development staff regarding missing or incomplete information
Provides administrative support for the OPRM team
Other special projects and duties as may be assigned from time to time

Bachelor's degree or a 4 year combination of education and/or related experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel and the Google suite of products
Detail-oriented and efficient, with demonstrated ability to accurately manage complex data entry projects
Problem-solving skills with ability to strategize and prioritize to meet goals and deadlines
Knowledge of research techniques, including ability to locate and interpret information from a variety of internal and external sources
Strong written communication skills with the ability to compose and edit a variety of written materials
Ability to work both independently and with a team of diverse stakeholders
Other Requirements: This position requires occasional evening and weekend work to support UA's events including blocks of time for major events such as Family Weekend, Reunion, and Homecoming, and other event support as required. Staff should mark their calendars for major events and events in their department. Exceptions require supervisory approval.
Exempt employees are required to work as much time as is necessary to fulfill the requirements of the position without additional compensation, even if the work is performed beyond standard work hours.
Bachelor's degree in a research-based discipline
Experience in higher education or other nonprofit fundraising organization
Experience working with a constituent relationship management database (CRM)
Experience in or knowledge of fundraising research and prospect management
