The Program Director is expected to support, execute and promote this commitment in the day-to-day life of the academic center at NYU Washington, DC, with primary responsibility for the academic program and student care. Working closely with senior NYU leadership and colleagues in the Office of Global Programs, the Director will partner with participating NYU schools, departments, and key faculty in New York to offer a high-Profile and high-quality academic program. A key focus of the position is to ensure the effective delivery of excellence in our academic programs and experiential learning opportunities that are consistent with NYU's leadership in international higher education. The program strengths include robust leadership and experiential learning opportunities, a first-year away program, a low residency Executive MBA program, and a provostial research center. Opportunity to teach two academic courses a year.
Master’s/terminal degree in relevant areas (Liberal Arts, Education, Public Administration or Public Policy, Business Administration, etc.)
Ten years of progressively responsible professional-level experience in higher education, nonprofit or foundation management, or another relevant context. Experience in student engagement, leadership development, alumni affairs, advising or career development, grants/budget management. Successful candidates must show evidence of their ability to work in Washington, DC
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation, management, problem-solving, and strategy skills. Proven ability to plan, implement, and assess programs with quantifiable results. Evidence of high-quality teaching, administrative skills, curriculum development, leadership, and research activity appropriate to the level. Good knowledge of academic policies and procedures. Experience as, or demonstrated capacity to be an effective, strategic leader. Self-motivated and with a high level of initiative. Energetic and results-oriented. Collaborative team member. Flexible and patient (adaptable in a fast-changing environment). Excellent intercultural and interpersonal communications skills. Familiar with US culture. Builds and manages effective teams.
