POSITION SUMMARY – Vice President, ICF Professional Coaches (ICF PC)
The Vice President serves as the chief staff officer of the ICF PC (ICF PC Family Organization) Working in conjunction with volunteer leadership and the professional management staff, the Vice President is responsible for the overall management and operations of the organization. In this capacity, the Vice President provides fiscal and personnel management, develops effective relationships with stakeholders and positively represents the organization to external audiences.
The Vice President maintains a high level of knowledge of and extensive experience in managing associations, membership organizations and/or nonprofit organizations. The Vice President shall demonstrate entrepreneurial business skills for the growth and development of the organization which is a 501(c)6 nonprofit.
This position creates and implements strategy to diversify and strengthen ICF’s global membership and chapter network to ensure sustainable growth. Operating as a point of integration for regional and global information, working closely with the ICF Staff and teams of volunteers, this role will identify and cultivate opportunities to increase sustainable growth and communication.
The Vice President reports to the Chief Executive Officer of ICF. All functions performed by the Vice President shall be aligned with the overall strategic plan carried out within parameters established by the ICF PC bylaws, strategic plan, annual budget and in close coordination with the Board of Directors. This position closely liaises with other Vice Presidents, Directors, and overall strategy of ICF Global Enterprise.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
In alignment with ICF GE Strategic Plan and ICF Board Direction:
Provides for effective execution of ICF PC programs, services, and events in line with the strategic plan or direction as established by the ICF PC board
Provides for sound fiscal planning and management in collaboration with the board leadership.
Contributes and participates in ICF’s senior leadership team
With other members of the organization’s leadership team, establish and execute organizational strategy, governance, and culture
Provides information to the Board of Directors to keep them apprised of activities and key developments within the organization, globally and regionally
Maintains effective communication with the organization’s program stakeholders
Maintains effective communication with ICF’s other Family Organization Vice Presidents and senior staff
Collaborates with Regional Team and Marketing resources to assist developing membership growth and communication strategy
Develops and sustains inter-regional communication systems
Drives visibility of regional activities within the global systems
Works and communicates with participants/ stakeholders, in a responsive and respectful manner, demonstrating sensitivity to individual needs and interests, and exhibiting effective leadership qualities
Leads ICF’s Regional System and supports further development and establishment of membership and chapter infrastructure in emerging markets
Evaluate and enhance relationship based, connection driven culture within the chapters, regions, and regional support teams
Works in a positive, partnering, and productive manner with the Board of Directors, responsive to board input and direction and offering sound advice and guidance
Develops a relationship of mutual support with the staff, provides the staff with effective leadership and fosters high staff performance and morale
Serves as the ICF PC primary representative, as necessary
Serves with the Board Chair as co-spokesperson to the media
Serves as a facilitative leader for the Board of Directors and other volunteer leadership groups, offering recommendations, advice and counsel while consistently recognizing and adhering to the ultimate authority of the Board and ICF
Implement and enhance existing leadership development programs including Global Leaders Forums and Chapter Leadership Mentor program, supporting competency-based leadership models
Provides strategic thinking, creativity and planning to assist the board with vision and direction
Employs effective leadership skills in the management of staff and contractors
Maintains a positive and influential leadership profile within the coaching industry
Perform other related duties as assigned
Supports a performance management process for all stakeholders to measure and evaluate progress in chapter development
A graduate degree or combined education or related experience and a minimum of five years of business management, association management and or industry experience preferred
Experience in successful leadership and development of remote teams
Excellent interpersonal skills to develop healthy relationships and trust within the system
Experience working with volunteers, and a nonprofit Board of Directors
Experience working with a multi-cultural membership, global organization, and chapter structure
Innovative problem-solving skills
Proven business and financial management experience
Ability to develop a strong and healthy team culture
Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing to a diverse audience
Demonstrate the highest level of ethical behavior

Ability to envision and convey the organization’s strategic future to the staff, board, volunteers, and stakeholders.
Public speaking experience
Ability to travel frequently and work some nights and weekends. Some travel will be international in nature

Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office, social media, AMS, and online collaborative tools (Basecamp, Smartsheet, etc.)
Experience managing a nonprofit organization
Experience with/knowledge of the professional coaching industry
Previous success in establishing relationships with individuals and organization of influence including corporations, partner agencies and volunteers
Strong written and verbal communications skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills
