Catlin Gabel is seeking for a talented communications professional and strategic thinker for their next Alumni Relations Assistant Director. This person will be driving the engagement and volunteerism for the Catlin Gabel school. This position will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive alumni engagement strategy across multiple generations through multiple channels. The individual will join a dynamic and collaborative advancement team. Reporting to and collaborating on strategy with the Associate Director of Advancement, this position will lead the day-to-day operations of the alumni program, serving as the primary point of contact. This role is critical in supporting the school’s efforts to sustain lifelong relationships with alumni and fulfill the mission of the Alumni Council. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in writing and communications and experience in the field of education or nonprofits is preferred. Success in the position will be evaluated based on the individual’s ability to support the Advancement Department and Alumni Council in achievement of their goals, which includes:
• Serving as a communication link between alumni/parents of alumni and the School. • Providing and encouraging volunteer and involvement opportunities in the School for the alumni community. • Providing opportunities for alumni to network and meet with one another. • Preserving and promoting the heritage, traditions, and values of the School and encouraging loyalty toward the School among alumni.
This individual will work closely with advancement staff, senior administrators, Alumni Council members, program directors, and faculty to identify engagement opportunities and execute strategies for alumni connection, giving, and involvement.

Catlin Gabel School is a coeducational, independent day school located on 54 acres in the West Hills neighborhood of Portland, Oregon formed in 1957 by the merger of the Catlin Hillside School, which had been founded as Miss Catlin’s School in 1911, and the Gabel Country Day School, whose roots extend to 1859 with the founding of The Portland Academy.
