The Associate Director provides overall leadership for the co-curricular programs in the Kernodle Center for Civic Life. This position will coordinate the Elon Volunteers! program and oversee areas such as GivePulse and service hour validation, assessment and evaluation, risk management and emergency protocols, alumni engagement, donor management, Leaders in Collaborative Service (LINCS) program, America Reads Federal Work Study program, and the Education and Youth Development and Human Rights and Advocacy clusters. Coordination with community partners and student affairs and academic affairs departments across campus is an essential part of the work. The Associate Director supervises the Assistant Director, Graduate Apprentice, and student staff.
Master's degree in higher education, student personnel, or related field.

Length Of Experience:
At least 3-5 years of progressive post-master's experience in community and civic engagement, or a related functional area in higher education.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Direct co-curricular student community and civic engagement programs involving 80+ student leaders who work collaboratively with nonprofit organizations and local schools to connect students with experiential learning opportunities
Assist with providing strategic leadership for a department that coordinates and convenes curricular and co-curricular civic engagement initiatives involving the university and local communities to address the common good
Oversee the validation and tracking of service hours for the Elon Experiences Transcript using the GivePulse platform
Oversee risk management and emergency response protocols for community engagement programs
Provide leadership for departmental diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts
Assist with the administration of the service Experiential Learning Requirement (ELR)
Assist with supporting departmental and divisional strategic planning, goal setting, and priority completion
Manage departmental data tracking and reporting
Oversee departmental assessment and evaluation efforts
Maintains effective relationships and partnerships with campus and community leaders
Coordinate the Leaders in Collaborative Service (LINCS) program
Direct departmental donor recognition program
Coordinate alumni engagement efforts
Co-advise the ChangeMakers cohorts
Co-coordinate the Student Ambassadors program
Manage the America Reads Federal Work Study program
Manage the $80,000 Elon Volunteers! and America Reads operating budgets
Advise the following Elon Volunteers! Clusters: Education and Youth Development, Human Rights and Advocacy
Assist the Director/Assistant Dean with other projects as assigned
Serve as departmental representative to divisional, university, and community committees, work groups, and task forces
Serve as an Administrator On-Call as part of the Student Life emergency response system
Other duties as required
