ASSOCIATE SECRETARY OF THE CORPORATION , Office of the President , to provide governance guidance and support to the MIT Corporation and its committees, in collaboration with the secretary, to ensure the Institute's governing body achieves its mission and goals. Will administer and enhance MIT's trustee identification program; work with the senior director of Corporation programs to oversee the daily functions of the Office of the Corporation; develop a deep understanding of and monitor compliance with the bylaws of the Corporation and charters of corporation committees; engage with members of the Corporation and its committees; work closely with the chairs of the Governance and Nominations Committee and the Corporation Joint Advisory Committee to develop an annual plan and agendas for committee meetings; track the membership, composition, and terms of the Corporation and its committees' members; and attend and support Corporation programming and meetings.
Job Requirements REQUIRED : bachelor's degree (graduate degree preferred); ten years of experience, preferably in governance support of higher education or other complex nonprofit institution; ability to successfully interact and build relationships with all internal and external constituencies; excellent interpersonal, diplomacy, organizational, and written and oral communication skills; ability to employ creative and strategic thinking; desire to work as part of a team; demonstrated supervisory experience; acute attention to detail; discretion with highly confidential information; and knowledge of Roberts Rules of Order.
