The Marketing Manager is the engine behind the programs by executing a creative strategy to aid in meeting the business goals for each department. This includes managing all digital marketing and marketing campaigns to support Association events, education, advocacy, products & services, membership recruitment, and retention.
Coordinates and collaborates with all applicable staff to facilitate creative strategy and distribute all digital marketing and marketing pieces for all departments, programs, and products. This includes but is not limited to education, membership, special events, advocacy, outreach, etc.
Works with graphic designer to provide creative strategy and when necessary, provide backup design support to develop collateral and promotional materials (invitations, brochures, flyers, signage, email graphics, animated graphics, etc.) to support communications efforts.
Edits and proofs collateral and editorial content to ensure quality and consistency of message.
Tracks, measures, and reports key performance indicators to determine marketing/communications effectiveness.
Supports the Association publications from concept to delivery with contributors and applicable vendors for both e-newsletters, and quarterly Window magazine.
Advertising sales and contract management, billings for Window magazine, website, and e-newsletter publications.
Responsible for email marketing including list management, email development, and execution.
Maintains the website with up-to-date content to support Association’s programs and products.
Regularly evaluates the website design and functionality; suggests and implements improvements for improved user experience.
Coordinates and manages professional photographers and videographers.
Create video content and graphics to support digital communications efforts.
Creates or curates content and manages the social media schedule for Association accounts on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
Serves as staff liaison to the Communications Committee.
Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned and as may be necessary to accomplish the goals and objectives of the Association (assisting with all fundraisers/meetings of the Association).
Experience & Skills Required and Preferred
Bachelor’s degree/equivalent experience in graphic design, marketing, communications, journalism, or related field.
Work experience in marketing, design, or communications.
Portfolio required with demonstrated ability to design and write copy.
Experience working with professional/trade associations/nonprofits is preferred.
Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop & Acrobat Pro.
Thorough knowledge of social media tools and content management systems including Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Flickr, Instagram, and Hootsuite.
Excellent writing skills: writing copy for a variety of forums, extensive knowledge of spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
Creativity a must. Ability to develop creative strategy and create graphics that are attention-grabbing.
Excellent interpersonal skills: team player, outgoing, tactful, flexible, professional.
Detail-oriented, with strong, project management and time-management skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Excellent organizational skills.
Must be a self-starter, flexible and adaptable to change, and work both independently and as a strong team player.
