As the Learning Specialist,your primary role is to develop high impact learning programs that build capabilities of staff and leaders throughout the organization. In this role, working with internal resources, the Learning Specialist conducts needs analysis, designs, develops, delivers, and evaluates learning programs and curriculum to achieve outcomes. This role will primarily focus on learning programs offered to Seattle Cancer Care Alliance leaders and staff.
Assist in analyzing and assessing learning and development needs for the organization, conduct needs assessments and analysis for requesting individuals and departments.
Develop curriculum for professional and leadership learning programs, including online, in-person, and eLearning offerings; strategically curate and utilize learning content, including outside vendor offerings, to align with organizational strategy and to meet instructional goals and objectives.
Design, develop and oversee the production of necessary learning program materials (e.g. classroom handouts, instructional materials, aids, and manuals). Perform administrative functions necessary to support, deliver, evaluate, and document learning programs including updates to internal webpages, building and maintaining experiences in the organizations learning management system, advertising learning opportunities.
Deliver and facilitate in-person and online learning experiences (e.g. classes, custom learning opportunities, webinars), utilizing adult learning theory to engage participants and achieve learning goals.
Facilitate group experiences including but not limited to focus groups, listening sessions, and peer learning sessions.
Evaluate effectiveness of learning and development programs and utilize relevant evaluation data to revise or recommend changes in instructional objectives and methods.
Review outside instructor performance and recommend improvements to program content and/or instructor presentation methods.
May recruit, select, and train instructors.
Stay abreast of the new trends and tools in professional and leadership learning and development.
Participate in and/or leads learning projects, as required.
Participate in the development and implementation of internal training policies and procedures, as well as larger organizational learning initiatives.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Bachelors degree in adult education, instructional design, or related field
3+ years experience in a training or learning and development role
3+ years experience in instructional and/or learning experience design and delivery
3+ years experience facilitating professional development curriculum as well as group facilitation experiences.
Ability and passion to facilitate virtual and live classroom instruction credibly with leaders and employees at all levels of the organization.
The ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, working through ambiguity and complexity, to identify opportunities and get to resolution effectively and efficiently.
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex issues and formulate recommendations to a wide variety of audiences are essential.
Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
E-learning design authoring tool experience with tools such as Articulate 360, and/or Adobe Captivate
Strong project management skills
Strong organizational, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
Strong technology skills with ability to quickly learn new applications
Customer service oriented
Willing to work both remote and on campus
3+ years experience facilitating leadership development curriculum as well as group facilitation experiences such as focus groups, listening sessions, team building and peer learning opportunities
Experience with learning management system such as Cornerstone OnDemand
Experience with SharePoint, Adobe Experience Manager or other content management systems.
