The University of Nebraska Press is a nonprofit scholarly and general interest press that publishes 160 new and reprint titles annually under the Nebraska, Bison Books, and Potomac Books imprints, and in partnership with the Jewish Publication Society, along with 30 journals. The Press has over 3,600 books in print and is the most diversified university press between Chicago and California.
This position will apply financial accounting principles and practices to generate financial statements for internal management of the Press and the University. Duties include recording financial transactions, reconciling ledger accounts, and communicating financial results.
Apply managerial (cost) accounting and financial principles to produce annual budgets and analysis; generate and present analysis to provide financial information and guidance to the Press; complete industry financial surveys; report financial information as requested by the University.
Research, develop, document and implement business policies, practices, procedures and systems to enhance the financial operations of the Press.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree plus four years of experience generating financial statements, analyzing data, and reporting. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Experience must demonstrate the ability to use electronic accounting systems; the ability to effectively use Office products including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; and the ability to quickly learn specialized Press software.
Experience in University publishing, publishing industry, or a university environment is preferred. Experience using QuickBooks is desirable.
Posted Salary: $52,000/yr minimum
