The University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture Office of Institutional Advancement is seeking an Assistant Director of Stewardship and Donor Relations. Reporting to the Manager of Strategic Research, the assistant director will support advancement and stewardship functions within and related to the UT Institute of Agriculture. This position will be responsible for initiatives and functions that provide a positive reinforcement of private gift support, recognition of donors, impact of dollars, communication of these outcomes to a variety of audiences, and moving donors along the philanthropic continuum.
As the primary touch point for stewardship activities at the institute, the assistant director will work with UTIA faculty and staff to steward donated funds in a timely manner and as agreed upon by the donor and university. The assistant director will coordinate the compilation of annual endowment impact reports, and manage the Office of Advancement's gift acknowledgement process. This position will be responsible for preparing and implementing individualized stewardship plans for high-level donors, as well as creating and managing specialized stewardship initiatives for all institute donors or segmented donor groups, and working with other UTIA or university staff to utilize available technology and creative methods, as appropriate. These initiatives could include, but are not limited to, both virtual and in-person donor events, giving societies/clubs, campus visits, cards, mailings, emails, and other targeted stewardship efforts. The assistant director will also coordinate stewardship efforts for shared campaigns with UTK, such as the Big Orange Give, Big Orange Family Campaign, and Senior Impact. With a focus on annual donors, responsibilities will also include identifying, assessing, cultivating and stewarding donors to determine appropriate strategy for moving them to the next gift level.
