Lead curriculum design, execution, and internship placement for finance diversity program including identifying opportunities that position students competitively in their career development.
Serve as expert career adviser for undergraduate students interested in finance, including a cohort of students from underrepresented backgrounds.
Provide coaching on career exploration and strategies to attain meaningful internships, full-time roles, and graduate school opportunities.
Use industry and company knowledge to provide targeted, outcomes-driven guidance and support. Identify key industry competency requirements and create internship opportunities for students to gain experience and develop technical skills in nonprofit endowment and investment offices.
Foster relationships with employer partners, including managing and tracking an employer portfolio to create incremental job and internship opportunities and expand Universityâ™s geographic footprint and impact.
Leverage virtual technology to provide innovative programs and foster student engagement and satisfaction.
Represent Career Advancement on calls with program donors and contributors, presents updates, write memos, execute on strategies and goals that support student career preparation and outcomes
Support weekly Careers in Business communications promoting workshops, events, and job opportunities.
Plan, design and execute workshops and employer site visits (virtual or on-site as relevant).Â
Manage and administer career treks to domestic and international business centers (virtual or on-site as relevant).Â This includes (but not limited to) connecting with firms and alumni and developing the trek schedule and logistics.
Manage and maintain efficient methods to track student data, quantify student engagement, and report on student outcomes.
Collaborate with colleagues to develop relationships with employers that lead to on campus recruiting for both internships and full-time opportunities
Manage or provide support to additional Career Advancement initiatives as assigned, including events and career fairs.
Conducts job search and career management related large lectures, hands-on workshops, special events, training programs, and one-on-one career coaching sessions. Acts as a resource for and directs students to other career resources as needed.
Analyzes markets and trends as they relate to job searches. Assesses student feedback and evaluations and collaborates with other career services staff members, student organizations, or other staff to determine program offerings and innovations.
Performs other related work as needed.
Master's degree or a comparable advanced degree
Minimum of three years of professional experience working in a finance and/or a corporate setting, with a preference for experience in investment banking, asset management or corporate finance.
Client-facing experience a plus.
Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Experience utilizing Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or other digital platform for meetings and events.
Basic financial modeling and budgetary experience.
Expertise in counseling, program development, or a related area
Knowledge of career development theory and strong coaching or counseling skills
Deep commitment to customer service, strong interpersonal skills and a high level of professionalism when interacting with internal and external clients.
Ability to support students and other constituents from diverse backgrounds.
Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work successfully and positively in a fast-paced environment. Experience working with college-aged students and/or new recent college graduates strongly preferred; experience developing and managing an internship program a plus.
Expertise in program development, or a related area. Demonstrated success in maintaining collaborative relationships with diverse constituencies.
Strong coaching or counseling skills.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills; strong interpersonal, quantitative, and networking skills.
Experience developing and delivering presentations, and ability to communicate to large groups as well as one-on-one with students, senior management, faculty, and alumni.
Ability to develop strong relationships with a wide variety of constituents, including employers and external partners like alumni and parents, students, faculty, staff, and senior leadership .
