The Greenberg Lab is looking for a highly motivated individual to support the development of immunotherapy for cancer. The successful candidate will utilize a variety of cutting-edge cellular and molecular techniques to analyze T cell immunity to cancer. The technician will be closely involved in the preclinical development of new TCR-based therapies and their translation into clinical trials. The candidate should be capable of maintaining detailed laboratory records, analyzing data, and reporting experimental results.
This position works under the direction of the Principal Investigator and senior laboratory personnel and will be involved in the following techniques/duties:
Assist in the design, implementation and interpretation of experiments involving murine and human T lymphocytes engineered to target tumor cells. These studies are specifically aimed at identifying ways to increase the therapeutic activity of tumor-reactive T lymphocytes.
Perform tissue culture and molecular biology techniques: Generation of antigen-specific T cells, transduction with retroviral and lentiviral vectors, passaging cell lines, FACS sorting and expanding T cells in vitro.
Analyze T cell phenotype, function and metabolism using techniques including flow cytometry, proliferation assays, PCR, RT-PCR, sequencing, and T cell cytolytic assays.
Assist with the management and organization of a fast-paced lab. Other duties as assigned by supervisor will be performed as necessary including conducting literature reviews to assist in determining most suitable methods to be used in research.
Contribute to the preparation and presentation of written and oral progress reports concerning studies and assist in publications.
A bachelors degree in a biological science and 2+ years of bench research experience is required
The candidate must be detail-oriented, ateam player and a fast and willing learner
The ideal candidate has prior experience with cellular biology techniques including cell culture, multicolor flow cytometry and biological sample handling
Experience working with primary T cells, FACS sorting and murine handling are highly desirable
Experience with next-gen sequencing techniques including single cell RNAseq (10x), and CRISPR-based gene editing preferred
