SENIOR AUDITOR , Audit Division , to conduct assurance and advisory engagements using an integrated approach within MIT Lincoln Laboratory 's central service departments, divisions, and groups. Methodology will include the identification and assessment of operational, compliance, financial, safety, and behavioral risks and exposures. Will examine the adequacy of manual and information technology controls over such risks through the use of traditional internal audit methodologies and data analytics. Responsibilities include engagement planning and testing; analyzing data; identifying trends; interpreting and presenting results of assurance and advisory work to support decision making by Lab and Institute management; assessing implemented corrective actions through follow-up testing; and participation in ongoing risk assessment associated with individual operational units and/or processes. Will engage with multiple clients in a highly collaborative matrixed team environment focussed on client service.
Job Requirements REQUIRED : a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, information technology, or related field; at least five years' experience in internal auditing and/or public accounting, preferably in an educational/nonprofit organization; solid understanding of governance, risk, and control concepts and project management theories; and strong critical thinking, analytical, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills. Professional certification (i.e., CIA, CISA, CPA) is required within eighteen months of employment. PREFERRED : understanding of the COSO framework and information technology standards, controls, and frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO and/or COBIT) and their application; appreciation for structure within an FFRDC environment; familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR); and working knowledge of electronic audit tools (e.g., Arbutus, Microsoft Power BI, AuditBoard, Tableau), data analytic concepts, and ERP systems (SAP). Work will predominantly be conducted at the Lab in Lexington, MA (some remote work is available), but there will be the occasional need to spend time on the MIT campus in Cambridge, MA.
