Rutgers University-Newark, an urban public research university and anchor institution, located in Newark, New Jersey, a city of promise, is seeking a Program Coordinator I. Reports to the Executive Director of the Newark City of Learning Collaborative (NCLC) of the Joseph C. Cornwall Center.
The Program Coordinator is instrumental in expanding Newark's college-going culture and helping the city of Newark achieve its goal of increasing the percentage of residents attaining a post-secondary degree or credential by the year 2025.
Specifically, the Program Coordinator and not limited to: -Oversees and manages the execution of the NCLC's communications strategy in order to raise the Collaborative's visibility and to inform and engage the community; -Responsible for curating media that represents NCLC for posting and distribution to NCLC partners and via citywide campaigns (where applicable); -Works with the NCLC team and partners to increase the resonance of the NCLC mission and brand; -Works with the NCLC team to develop strategies, tools, and approaches – informed by qualitative and quantitative analysis and synthesis – to interface with and engage the defined target market(s); -Assists with the identification, development, and writing of correspondence, press releases, and, in some cases, grant proposals and reports to funders. -Provides support to unit management by assisting with the coordination and administration of programs, projects, and/or processes and with the planning, preparation, and control of communications, events, records, statistics, reports, and documents. -Assists with the analysis of various administrative documents and program data, create routine informational materials, and aids in promotional areas of marketing support; -Works are consistent with a basic understanding of the mission, vision, role, and goals of the administrative, academic, or research unit.

Minimum Education and Experience:
Requires a bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of coordination, organization, facilitation, report analysis, writing, and promotion/outreach. Also requires a minimum of two years of relevant experience in program coordination or administrative function; and demonstration of good communication skills, and computer literacy.

Ability to lead productive collective brainstorming to identify cutting edge media ideas Experience in the corporate social responsibility, nonprofit, and/or media sectors.
