If that sounds like you, you could be TRWA’s next Communications Specialist! This position combines graphic design, web maintenance, public relations, social media/content development, email marketing, and administrative oversight. This person will work alongside a team of other highly motivated, detail-oriented individuals who work to strengthen visibility, engagement, and support. The Communications Specialist will report to the Deputy Executive Director and will be responsible for the development of digital and traditional communications materials and the implementation of communications plans and strategies in support of the Association. Key responsibilities include: - Work with the Deputy Executive Director to implement the Association’s communications plan; evaluate opportunities and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Design, develop and distribute digital and traditional communications pieces and ensure consistency of branding and messaging
- Assist with the planning, content, design and production of the Association’s trade magazine and consumer-facing publications
- Use CMS to maintain Association website, regularly updating and authoring new and dynamic content
- Manage the Association’s social media accounts, including the weekly maintenance of content calendars, tracking relevant trends, and authoring compelling content
- Manage distribution lists and produce weekly eNewsletters, as well as specialized and targeted email marketing campaigns
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with industry professionals to produce revenue through advertising opportunities to meet or exceed targets for magazine, directory, and website
Other job duties include: - Maintain spreadsheets in support of publications, advertising, and PAC sponsorships
- Perform routine queries in membership database in relation to publication and collateral distribution lists
- Manage website job board, including assisting end users with postings, monitoring posts for quality assurance, invoicing and recording payment
- Curate and coordinate content for internal communications initiatives
- Request creative assets and follow up with internal and external stakeholders to fulfill department deliverables
- Process credit card payments for advertising sales and PAC donations
- Assist with the tracking of Awards of Excellence nominations and Student Scholarship applications, and assembling packets for board scoring committees
- Perform general administrative and clerical duties as related to TRWA’s Communications Department, including hardcopy and electronic filing of documents, researching media outlets, compiling data, gathering quotes for print or promotional items, and responding to inquiries about editorial calendar, publication schedule or advertising rates
- Serve on various staff committees, including leadership development and conference planning committees
- Present on communications-related topics at regional conferences and conventions as needed.
- Assist with the coordination and completion of specific projects for the Deputy Executive Director
- Share in customer service support for phone system
- Other duties as assigned by the Deputy Executive Director
