COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST , Government and Community Relations (OGCR) , to research, design, and produce reports, communications, projects, and publications in support of MIT's relationships with the City of Cambridge and its local community, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the federal government, and other industry and nonprofit partners. Will proactively collaborate with a cross-section of internal and external stakeholders to develop and manage how MIT presents itself to the outside world in the context of the Institute's and OGCR's mission and in support of the "town-gown" relationship and other vital partnerships.
Job Requirements REQUIRED : B.S./B.A. in a related field; at least three years of professional work experience in communications, marketing, project management, or a related field; excellent organizational, planning, interpersonal, and written and verbal communication skills; and advanced-level computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office online, Adobe Creative Suite, Mail Chimp, Hootsuite, Drupal, QuickBase (or other relational database software), Pantheon, Google Suite, and other online applications. Must be able to ability to prioritize and multitask while paying close attention to detail in a pressured, fast-moving environment; track and implement multiple schedules and projects simultaneously; collaborate with multiple stakeholders and navigate complex partnerships; and work both independently with minimal supervision and as part of a close-knit team. PREFERRED : knowledge of or ability to learn HTML/CSS, an understanding of Cambridge or similar urban communities and the town-gown relationship, and a background or interest in equity and social justice work.
