The School of Health and Natural Sciences at Mercy College invites qualified candidates for a full time, multiple year track Assistant professor in the Health Sciences Program in the School of Health and Natural Sciences at Mercy College beginning Fall 2021. The focus of this position is on teaching excellence in Health Science at our Bronx and Dobbs Ferry campuses including Science of Nutrition. Experience in integrating innovative approaches to promoting student success and developing an inclusive community both inside and outside the classroom will be given preference. In addition, experience in online teaching will also be given preference. A willingness to work collaboratively with faculty and to mentor students from a wide range of disciplines, cultures and academic backgrounds is essential. -A commitment to and experience in teaching health science courses including Science of Nutrition
An earned doctoral degree (Ph.D, DrPH, SciD, Ed.D or similar) in Public Health, Health Education, Health Promotion, Health Behavior, or a closely related field (e.g. Nutrition, Maternal & Child Health) is required. Preferred: Current Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES)/Master Certified Health Education Specialist (MCHES) credential or Certified in Public Health (CPH) or CHES/MCHES/CPH eligible at the time of appointment OR Registered Dietician (RD) or Dietetic Technician, Registered (DTR).
