The AmeriCorps VISTA, Community Engagement Coordinator will work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and community agencies to forge a pathway to enhanced community and civic engagement work across the university. The primary focus of the position will center on building robust opportunities for curricular community engagement accessible to students across disciplines, implementing best practices in community-based learning, and ensuring community engagement is grounded in qualities of reciprocity, mutual respect, shared authority, and co-creation of goals and outcomes. Specific Responsibilities: - Support the growth of the BU250 Community Engagement Practicum including consulting with community partners and students to identify and develop mutually beneficial projects/experiences, facilitating student reflection on community engagement, and providing any assistance needed by faculty sponsors supervising the experiences
- Manage the "learn to serve" orientation for students participating in community-based learning and promote to faculty to incorporate into their community engaged courses as needed.
- Support the development and promotion of the Bonner Leaders program for student employees working at community-based organizations. Facilitate civic and leadership development for students, community partner coordination/communication, and any assistance needed by the Office Financial Aid.
- Facilitate the launch of the MobileServe app for discovering community engagement opportunities, signing up for opportunities, and tracking hours/partners for students and staff.
- Participate in grant writing to increase access to community engagement for Bellarmine students and provide any assistance needed to administer funding to students pursuing internships/practicum in the nonprofit sector.
- Coordinate and promote community engagement/service opportunities for students, staff, and faculty as needed.
- Coordinate data gathering and reporting for university-wide community engagement initiatives including RSO service, curricular community engagement, and other office/department community engagement projects.
- Support the vision and implementation of the Core Curriculum Community Engagement Thread reaching students in the first year, sophomore/junior year, and senior year to ensure opportunity is accessible, students are accountable, and impact is measurable and sustainable.
- Support the work of the President's Taskforce for Community Engagement as needed.
- Manage internal and external communications for the Center for Community Engagement including: social media (Instagram), Stuff to Do at BU, Bellarmine Today, digital signs, website updates, and monthly Community Partner Newsletter.

AmeriCorps VISTA Remuneration: - The staff member who fills this position will be an employee of the Corporation for National and Community Service for a 1-year contract that can be renewed for a maximum of 3 years of service.
- AmeriCorps VISTA Bi-Weekly Living Allowance in Jefferson Co, KY (full 14 days of service): $513.94
- AmeriCorps VISTA Annual Living Allowance in Jefferson Co, KY: $13,362.44
- A full-time AmeriCorps VISTA member can choose to receive the Segal AmeriCorps Education Award, worth approximately $6,000, or an end-of-service cash stipend, with approximately $1,800, at the end of their service term. The amount of a full-time Education Award increases every year based on the Pell Grant.
- AmeriCorps VISTA members serving at Bellarmine University may be able to live in the residence halls at no cost if there is space available.
- AmeriCorps VISTA members serving at Bellarmine University may be eligible to receive a tuition benefit if they continue in their AmeriCorps VISTA position for a second year of service.
- AmeriCorps VISTA members are not considered employees of Bellarmine University.
