Posting Number: F0338P Primary Responsibility : Faculty member will serve as the coordinator of Commercial Ensembles. This would include scheduling, organizing, assigning, performance planning, academic leadership of, and directing at least one commercial music ensemble. Faculty would be responsible for teaching up to twelve credit hours per semester. Teaching Responsibility could include: Songwriting 1, Songwriting 2, Lyric Writing Lab, Production 1, Production 2, Mix Techniques, Catalog & Portfolio, Identity & Artistry, Jazz/Pop Theory, Commercial Theory, and/or other course(s) within the faculty member's expertise area(s). Service Responsibility includes:Recruitment to all School of Music degree programs. Departmental committee work may include undergraduate and graduate curriculum development, season and performance planning, attendance at School of Music faculty meetings and planning retreats. Faculty member will be assigned a number of advisees during his/her second semester. Creative & Scholarly Activity includes: Continued creative and scholarly activity in his/her discipline. Could include publication, performance, off-campus conducting/composition/performance at the regional, national, and/or international level. Could include participation and involvement in appropriate discipline-specific professional music organizations and conferences. The School of Music supports faculty members in these endeavors.
