Job Summary: The Center for Social Concern fosters a life-long commitment to active citizenship through education, action, and reflection. Working toward this mission, the CSC strives to support students on the Homewood Campus of Johns Hopkins University through engagement opportunities with the Baltimore community. The Community Partnerships Coordinator will be responsible for the implementation of a comprehensive outreach plan for the Center for Social Concern that is designed to strengthen relationships with community agency partners, increase civic engagement opportunities for the CSC programs, and provide direct service opportunities within Baltimore City, regionally, and nationally. In addition, the Community Partnerships Coordinator will play a crucial role in engaging and providing training and support to partners and community-based agencies on Hopkins Engage, university’s community engagement platform. This position will be responsible for consistent attention to community partner needs as well as targeted outreach to engage new partners based on student interest and CSC programming.
This position will be required to work closely with the Associate Director of the CSC as well as additional multi-disciplinary entities to promote the culture of service within the University and through external relations. The Community Partnerships Coordinator will be required to travel locally, regionally, nationally, and potentially internationally. The incumbent will work collaboratively with other University and Student Affairs departments to identify and coordinate programs, service days, and special initiatives.

During the Influenza ("the flu") season, as a condition of employment, The Johns Hopkins Institutions require all employees who provide ongoing services to patients or work in patient care or clinical care areas to have an annual influenza vaccination or possess an approved medical or religious exception. Failure to meet this requirement may result in termination of employment.
The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination. This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers. Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office.
