The New York Pollution Prevention Institute (NYSP2I) gives Empire State businesses, communities, and nonprofits the practical tools and solutions they need to realize the benefits of sustainability for our economy, environment, and our society as a whole.
Detailed Job Description The New York State Pollution Prevention Institute (NYSP2I) is a research center of RIT that is dedicated to helping New York State residents and businesses find implementable and cost effective sustainability solutions. A required element of this State funding is an Outreach and Education program which disseminates pollution prevention information across the State. This position manages this $600K/ year program through a variety of strategic planning, relationship building, budget preparation and program development.
Major responsibilities include:
Oversee the NYSP2I Community Grants Program by leading the team disseminating the annual request for applications, overseeing the selection and contracting processes for awardees, interacting with awardees through the grant period to assure progress and validate invoices, and to communicate successes around the state.
Direct NYSP2I's Outreach and Education Program, including the development, coordination and execution of an outreach strategy that gathers statewide stakeholder input and disseminates technology and best practice solutions across the state.
Aid the NYSP2I director in seeking additional funding for the Institute including philanthropic foundations by identifying foundations aligned with P2I mission, facilitating letters of interest from P2I staff, and interacting with RIT development and foundations staff to pursue relevant opportunities.
Responsible for strategic financial planning and budget preparation for an approximately $600K budget. Responsible for the review and tracking of expenditures, and budget reconciliations as it relates directly to the NYSP2I State funding requirements.
Required Minimum Qualifications Please note: This position may require flexible schedule-coverage for occasional night and weekend events
A Bachelor's degree is required
minimum of 5+ years of related work experience
experience with educational program development, event planning/coordination
Specialized skills required:
Self-motivated to meet deadlines independently
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication, writing and presentation skills
Strong MS Office skills
Network of connections in NYS non-governmental organization, regulatory and business communities
