MassChallenge is looking for a Community Manager to oversee all aspects of our expert experience, a key stakeholder group at MassChallenge. This is a business-critical role that represents MassChallenge across New England and is a primary liaison between the organization and our leading experts and specialists. You will be a connector and facilitator who helps the MassChallenge New England programs activate its expert community and support our startups. You will report to the New England Director and will work closely with other members of the Early-Stage Team to deliver a successful accelerator program.
A note on location: this position will be based out of our Boston, MA office which is currently closed because of the global COVID-19 pandemic. These positions will start virtual/remote which means you can be located anywhere in the U.S. to start while working east coast hours. We anticipate opening the office no earlier than June 1, 2021, at reduced capacity and with strict safety measures in place. Once our office opens, you would be expected to come in, and at this time we are not able to provide relocation assistance.
What You’ll Do Manage expert pool & experience
Recruit, interview, curate, steward and deploy experts to ensure MassChallenge expert community is robust and high-quality.
Develop a recruitment strategy to diversify our expert pool
In coordination with the Acceleration Design team, support expert on-boarding and training and other U.S. expert initiatives.
Create an engagement strategy to build a sense of community amongst experts and so that they feel recognized and appreciated.
Identify ways thru marketing channels to spotlight our Experts such as our community newsletters.
Conceive of and host events for our experts.
Build relationships with regional expert community; provide great customer service.
Collaborate with Early Stage on expert experience and data
Support mission-critical acceleration milestones such as:
Judging: identify qualified judges, scheduling, and day of execution.
Office hour scheduling and promotions.
In collaboration with the U.S. Early Stage team identify ways to meaningful collect data on expert-driven outcomes above and beyond KPIs and goals you’ll be responsible for.
Support partnerships with new expert onboarding.
Support in Partnership Delivery (such as contractual obligations) as necessary.

You have 3-5 years of relevant experience in community management or program operation.
Documented strengths in meaningful relationship building, management and growth
You are a consummate networker who is able to move comfortably and credibly in the entrepreneurial community.
You have an understanding of the entrepreneurial journey and challenges faced by startups. Ability to match resources and experts based on these challenges.
You are a professional, hands-on, resourceful style with the ability to work independently and as a team player, to take initiative and manage multiple tasks and projects at a time.
You enjoy working in a fluid, dynamic organization with a minimal amount of direction yet with a willingness to be led, and comfort with situational leadership.
