Position Summary: The School of Public Affairs and Administration (SPAA) at the Newark Campus of Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, seeks candidates for a full-time tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level to provide teaching, research, and service in health policy and administration or any closely related field. We seek applications from highly productive researchers with a solid record of scholarly achievements and sponsored research. We are particularly interested in candidates whose research addresses health policy and administration in diverse urban communities, especially in relation to Latinx populations. Candidates should be able to teach courses in our BA, MPA, and PhD programs (both on campus and online). Experience with, or interest in, teaching students from diverse cultural backgrounds is also very important. The position will begin in the Fall 2021 semester. The appointee will become a core faculty member in a NASPAA-accredited public administration program that is ranked 13th nationally in Public Management and Leadership, and 16th in Nonprofit Management, by US News and World Report. SPAA actively engages with the government and nonprofit communities in the greater Newark metro area. The School offers an undergraduate major in public and nonprofit administration, an on-campus MPA, a fully online MPA, an Executive MPA, and a research-oriented Ph.D. Faculty are also involved in several certificate programs. Total enrollment is more than 700 degree and non-degree students. Candidates must hold an earned doctorate in public administration or a related field at the time of appointment.
