Department: Community Engagement - 30400 Brief Summary of Work for this position: The Grant Writer/Program Coordinator will be responsible for researching, writing and coordinating the grant application process; management of proposals and maintaining a donor database. Assist with coordination of Equity Institute (EI) and Community Engagement programming. The Grant Writer/Program Coordinator is responsible for: Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Bachelor's degree and one year of experience related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience : A minimum of 3 years of experience in research and grant writing; nonprofit experience a plus Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit: UNCW's Office of Community Engagement and Applied Learning (OCEAL) is committed to uplifting our faculty, staff, students and community partners to support a thriving future for southeastern North Carolina, our surrounding region, nation, and the world. Our outreach units (QENO, OLLI, CPE and the Office of the Arts) provide access to inclusive and diverse leadership and learning experiences, cultural programming, and community-building opportunities. OCEAL is located in the division of Academic Affairs, which is the central division for implementing the mission of the University of North Carolina Wilmington. Through effective academic policies, practices and programs, it provides leadership for excellence in teaching, scholarship and creative work as well as service to local, regional and global communities. The division allocates resources to recruit and retain faculty scholars and to create a learning environment that encourages students.
