General Descriptions: Responsible for performing independently, tasks of a skilled nature, necessary for the operation, maintenance, repair and remodeling of Center buildings, grounds and equipment. Must be proficient in architectural skills. Additionally, a working knowledge in at least two of the following areas: mechanical, plumbing, electrical, welding, HVAC, building automation, steam and hot water systems or refrigeration would be beneficial. Responsibilities Responsible for independently performing architectural and/or mechanical work orders necessary for the operation, maintenance, repair and remodeling of Center buildings, grounds, and equipment. Type of work includes but is not limited to: - Estimating work (time and material), liaising with customers, executing all required paperwork, updating as-built drawings
- Work with and/or train apprentices
- Builds, repairs, and installs counters, cabinets, benches, keyboard trays, partitions, floors, doors, building framework, and trim
- Installs glass in windows, doors, and partitions
- Replaces damaged ceiling tile, floor tile, and wall coverings
- Builds cabinets and other wooden equipment in carpenter shop
- Installs items such as window shades, venetian blinds, and curtain rods, wall fans, and door locks for tenants
- Minor Painting and drywall work
- Individual may also be assigned to work with and/or train apprentices
Qualifications - High School diploma or equivalent
- 4-6 experience in carpentry, construction, or repair work or completion of at least two years of trade school and two years' experience
- Must be proficient in architectural skills. Additionally, a working knowledge in at least two of the following areas: mechanical, plumbing, electrical, welding, HVAC, building automation, steam and hot water systems or refrigeration would be beneficial.
- Possess and maintain a valid Washington State Drivers License
- Physical skills necessary to climb, bend, stoop, lift and perform tasks utilizing ladders and scaffolds, etc.
- Able to lift 50 lbs.
- Dependable, on-time and proven good work habits
- Good communications skills
- Able to work a varied schedule including shift work
