Director of Annual Giving

Position Overview: The primary responsibility of the Director of Annual Giving  is to direct and administer the School’s annual giving fundraising campaigns with the overarching goal to promote and cultivate philanthropic support needed to fulfill and advance the mission of the School. Additionally the position seeks to foster greater engagement and involvement among the school's parent and donor community through events, volunteerism, communication, and philanthropy.   To fulfill the duties of this position will require 15%  travel and may be required to work a limited number of evening and weekend events. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Establish and monitor annual goals, strategy, timeline, and marketing efforts for The Cupola Fund (the school’s annual fund) with the Associate Head for Advancement (10%) 
• Recruit, educate, and support annual giving volunteers for soliciting parents, grandparents, alumni, and faculty/staff. This includes educating and communicating to the community about the school’s needs and how philanthropic support makes a difference (20%) 
• Direct key messages and communications for targeted print and electronic appeals for annual giving. Coordinate collaborative efforts with Communications in the preparation of direct solicitation materials, including but not limited to targeted appeal letters, brochures, email, social media, crowd fundraising, videos, and website; with an emphasis on improving the community’s understanding of the importance of annual giving (20%) 
• Manage, cultivate, solicit, and steward a caseload of leadership giving prospects and grow the Chairman’s  Leadership Circle for Giving program with gifts of $1,000+(20%) 
• Collaborate with the Director of Stewardship on a comprehensive donor stewardship program and on the planning, execution, and hosting of constituent events such as Grandparents Day, parents’ receptions, and other community friendraising events. (5%)
• Collaborate with Advancement Services Coordinator to ensure accurate gift entry, timely receipts, giving reports, benchmarking, pledge reminders, and annual report.  (10%)
• Establish and coordinate a parent volunteer team to launch and lead an annual fundraising special event that becomes increasingly important contributor to the annual giving goals (15%)
