Overview: Reporting to the President/Chief Operating Officer, the General Counsel (“GC”) serves as the chief legal officer of Community Brands and is a member of the senior leadership team. The GC is responsible for providing strategic legal and business advice in various areas, such as commercial and customer contracts, technology agreements, software/SaaS agreements, domestic and international business transactions, data privacy and protection, corporate governance, mergers & acquisitions, compliance with regulatory schemes, litigation management, labor and employment, intellectual property and risk management. The GC will be responsible for a team, which consists currently of 2 attorneys. Location: This position can be located, in order of preference, in Knoxville, TN or St. Petersburg, FL. Compensation: Competitive compensation package includes base, bonus and incentive equity commensurate with experience. Experience: 10-15+ years of legal experience including serving as a General Counsel in a similar size company; or Deputy General Counsel in charge of a division of a larger company. Candidates must possess considerable in-house experience as a corporate lawyer ideally with a software company, and be capable of handling all of the legal and business issues associated with a growth-oriented, private equity-owned business. Relocation: Yes. Local/Regional candidates preferred, with a focus on Knoxville and St. Petersburg. Bar Admission: Active bar membership in at least one US jurisdiction.
