A Computational Biologist/Bioinformatics Analyst position in the laboratory of Dr. Erick Matsen and the Computational Biology Program is available immediately.
Manage Python pipelines to manipulate, visualize, and report on B cell receptor sequence and PhIP-seq data
Contribute to data models and designs and participate in documentation of data models and mapping specifications
Work closely with investigators, biostatisticians, and subject matter experts to understand data sharing requirements, data definitions, and data sources
Create testing plans for each phase of the development process to ensure accuracy and quality of program code as well as thorough data validation procedures
Experiment with data exploration and visualization, and communicate findings with reports and presentations
Assist in software testing and validation
Applicants must have at least a Bachelors degree in one of these disciplines: Computational biology, bioinformatics, computer science, data science, statistics, biostatistics, biomedical engineering, computer/electrical engineering, physics, or other related fields and a minimum of 3-6 years of directly related experience.
Applicants should have some of the following skills and experience:
Work well in team environments; strong communication skills; detail-oriented
Strong programming experience
Experience with high performance computing environments or cloud computing environments
