The Vanguard School is a private nonprofit boarding and day program addressing the needs of students with learning challenges. We provide direct and individualized instruction for students in 6th to 12th grades.
Currently, we are looking for a qualified candidate for an English III and English IV teaching position. The teacher will teach assigned course(s) using state standards, and follow professional teaching practices as outlined by the FDOE.
Develop and deliver lesson plans utilizing a broad range of appropriate differentiated techniques to meet the individual needs of students. Providing a patient, nurturing, supportive, and positive learning environment. Teach other courses as assigned.
Basketball coaching is also a preferred interest in the right candidate. Experience coaching in high school and/or collegiate level is preferred. Must be willing to work closely with the Athletic Director to learn/follow all state and school requirements.
Qualified candidates should hold a teaching certification in English Language Arts (6-12) or hold a letter of eligibility for the state of Florida. ESE certification and experience are necessary.
This position would be an immediate start for the best-fit candidate. Background checks, drug tests, and fingerprints are required prior to the start date.

The Vanguard School is a private, non-profit, co-educational, boarding and day school for students in grades 6-12 who experience learning disabilities. These disabilities include dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, ADD, ADHD, and high-functioning autism. For over 50 years Vanguard has provided an individualized education to these students in small classroom settings that average 6-10 students per class. Vanguard also provides a full range of activities and sports and aspires that all students will go on to higher education and independent education.
