ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION , Economics-School Effectiveness and Inequality Initiative (SEII) , to act as a senior manager who leads the overall operational activities of the organization. SEII is a growing team of professionals devoted to answering major policy and societal questions related to education, the workforce, and inequality. SEII consists of over eighteen academic affiliates who represent leading economic thinkers, ten full-time staff members, and six graduate researchers. The team partners directly with leading academic, government, and nonprofit institutions to address major social policy challenges. Will work closely with the executive director to advance the group's mission by ensuring its financial and administrative processes operate efficiently and that internal documentation and communication systems are maintained; lead and monitor financial activities, including the development of the annual operating budget that aligns to the organization's strategic plan; act as a key driver of research operations, establishing administrative processes to help ensure the organization meets sponsor and MIT policies; and function as a human resources representative within the organization, acting as a liaison between MIT Human Resources and leadership. The position involves working closely with SEII's growing research and policy teams.
Job Requirements REQURED : a bachelor's degree in a related field (MBA preferred); at least five years of administrative experience; a demonstrated track record of establishing financial and operational systems in a sponsored research environment; extensive experience with Excel, SAP, and other financial platforms; and meticulous attention to detail and accuracy, particularly in relation to complex financial tasks.
