Director of Research, Relationship Management and Analytics

The Director of Research, Relationship Management and Analytics provides leadership and sets strategic direction for prospect identification, qualification and rating; prospect development, management and tracking; prospect strategy development and development research in support of the College's fundraising priorities. The director is also responsible for analytics, including principal, major, and annual gift gifts prospect analysis/modeling and analysis of fundraising efficacy across all programs.
Pomona College advancement secures the philanthropic support to realize the overall educational mission of the college. This position reports to the Assistant Vice President, Advancement Operations and works very closely with colleagues in the operations department, all frontline fundraisers, the overall Advancement Division, Office of the President and Board of Trustees. The Director is responsible for engaging in a full range of prospect research, relationship management and analytics programs to support Pomona College. The position is a critical player in building and growing a sustainable donor pipeline.

Education: Advanced degree highly desired. Four (4) years of full-time experience in prospect research at an educational institution, non-profit institution or equivalent. Strong analysis background.
Experience: Twelve years demonstrable leadership experience with increasing responsibility in the areas of prospect research, database management, and analytics required. A minimum of five years management experience, in a medium to large development operation with a diverse portfolio of prospects preferred. Experience in complex nonprofit organizations. Experience with Wealth Screenings. Experience building a Relationship Management program utilizing data and analytics to drive fundraising success. Raiser's Edge experience or other fundraising software. Experience managing staff. Familiarity with the demands of Prospect Research during a capital campaign.
The regular hours for this full-time position are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday. Holiday, weekend and evening work hours may be required. Travel may be required. Regular hours may vary due to needs of the College or division.
