The Senior Compliance Lead is a salaried, exempt position that reports to the Director of Development. The Senior Compliance Lead is responsible for reviewing grant and loan applications and agreements for compliance requirements; creating systems and processes for tracking those requirements; alerting management when compliance criteria is in jeopardy; and completing and filing all documents and reports with applicable institutions in a timely manner. The Senior Compliance Lead is also responsible for writing Accion’s applications for government programs for which we choose to apply and for which compliance tracking is required.
Review new agreements pre and post execution for compliance requirements and assess Accion’s ability to reasonably fulfill those requirements in conjunction with all involved departments
Maintain tracking/recordkeeping and documentation mechanism for all executed agreements and reporting requirements
Collaborate with colleagues responsible for the data needed for the compliance function and facilitate compliance requirements across disciplines
Analyze data, highlight trends, report concerns and celebrate success
Review grant opportunities from government entities and recommend those programs for which Accion should apply; draft and file completed applications
Remain current with industry best practices
Manage compliance for the organization’s grant and loan programs by executing sound policies, procedures, and reporting in a timely and efficient manner
Ensure compliance requirements are being met by collaborating with other departments responsible for both the work covered by executed agreements and the tracking of that work; remain current on best practices
Review pending agreements for feasible compliance reliability, recommend solutions when requests are outside of the organization’s scope or capability
Compile, analyze and monitor data
Research regulations; develop and execute new processes as required
Seek out, review and apply for appropriate government funding opportunities
Perform other duties flexibly and creatively as needs arise
Contribute to a net surplus annually

The Senior Compliance Lead should have a:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in compliance work at a comparable nonprofit or financial institution
Knowledge of compliance auditing and best practices
Proven track record of attending to detail, tracking, analyzing and reporting data and meeting deadlines
Collaborative workstyle that thrive in a fast-paced environment with a customer service focus
Clear writing style and experience with government grants
