Reporting to the Board of Trustees, the Executive Director will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for ISAAGNY’s daily operations and future direction. S/he will serve as the face of the organization to member schools, their heads, and admissions personnel and assume the role of primary spokesperson.
ISAAGNY has ambitious plans to continue to enhance its value to member schools over the coming years, and a sub-group of trustees has recently engaged in the early stages of thoughtful long range planning, the results of which will be shared with the new Executive Director upon appointment.
Of immediate importance, the new Executive Director will be expected to address the following priorities:
Establish and maintain positive relationships with member schools and their leadership and staffs.
Enhance communication and advance a spirit of transparency in all facets of the organization’s operation.
Oversee marketing of the organization to promote its value, enhance its visibility, and entice others to join.
Identify, coordinate, and implement relevant and valuable professional development programming that will advance the skills of admissions personnel and increase the opportunities for them to network, communicate, and build relationships with one another.
Direct experience in independent school admissions or in another administrative capacity that interacts directly with the admissions process. Specific knowledge of the NYC marketplace is a definite asset.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to speak and present to small and large groups.
Familiarity and comfort with research and data-driven analysis and its applications to the work of the organization.
Strong motivational and leadership abilities, including initiative and an entrepreneurial orientation.
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree; masters or advanced degree strongly preferred.
Solid technological proficiency including Office Suite and Excel.
Someone who follows up and follows through.
A sense of humor, personal integrity, and an impeccable work ethic.
This is a twenty-five hour per week (60%), part-time position with a regionally competitive salary to be negotiated with the successful candidate.
