Under the supervision of an ORSP Assistant Managing Project Representative, the Assistant Project Representative will work collaboratively across campus with units engaged in sponsored activity, providing high-quality support and customer service to faculty, staff and sponsor representatives. Among other duties, the Assistant Project Representative will assist faculty and staff regarding the preparation and administration of data use agreements (DUAs); explain regulatory requirements applicable to human subject and patient data; review, negotiate and amend DUAs; assist with compliance issues; work with compliance offices like U-M’s Institutional Review Board on data use terms and procedures; consult on human subjects and data use in research agreements; and coordinate approval processes for non-standard agreement terms.
2 - 5 years of relevant experience.

Excellent interpersonal skills, including strong active listening skills, highly developed emotional intelligence, ability to work well as a team member, and a positive attitude.
Skill in writing grammatically correct, clear and concise business correspondence, and ability to proofread business correspondence with a high degree of accuracy.

U.S. Citizenship or Lawful Permanent Resident Status: ORSP deals with export-control information, the handling of which is regulated by the U.S. Federal Government and access to which is restricted to U.S. Citizens and Lawful Permanent Residents.
Knowledge of privacy laws and regulations related to human subjects research and clinical care.
Experience interacting with extramural sponsors, including but not limited to Federal agencies, state agencies, nonprofit organizations, and industry.
Familiarity with U-M policies and procedures related to research administration (including, but not limited to, accounting, purchasing, personnel, and regulatory compliance).
Certification in Research Administration (CRA), JD, MBA or comparable degree/certification.
