Overview: Experienced leader committed to affordable housing and social justice needed to assist in leading non-profit housing counseling agency serving DuPage County. Must be creative self-starter who excels in managing multiple tasks and interacting with diverse constituencies. As the Associate Executive Director, you will assist in all aspects of operations and assist in providing leadership on housing issues within the County. Reports to: Executive Director.
Program Supervision: Oversee implementation of all programming including special financing packages for low-income households, pre-purchase counseling, foreclosure prevention, and Financial Fitness program, home buyer education and reverse mortgage counseling.
Fundraising: Create and implement strategic campaigns to raise funds and community awareness of the organization. Assist with grant writing from government and private funders; solicit business and membership dues and sponsorships. Generate commitments from government and lender partners.
Financial & Office Management: Assist with budget, payroll, benefits, accounts payable, receivables, monthly reporting, and annual audit. Assist Director of Operations in overseeing of office.
Community Relations: Along with the Executive Director, build bridges/nurture relationships with existing stakeholders; identify and cultivate relationships with new stakeholders. Develop and maintain relationships with program partners and media to ensure necessary resources are generated, and organization and issues are represented consistently and favorably. Represent HOME at public speaking engagements.
Employee & Volunteer Development: Assist with Managing and providing direction for HOME staff and supervise volunteer recruitment to assist with program objectives and events. Provide support for the Board of Directors and committees to further the HOME mission.
Public Education & Advocacy: Develop external communications, including news releases, brochures and annual report. Oversee special events and develop new outreach activities. Serve on community collaborations and task forces.
Board Relations: Assist with board of directors on board development and strategic planning, and upholding consistent, professional organizational image and messages.

BA required, master’s degree preferred.
5 years progressive experience, preferably in a nonprofit environment.
