The Stanford Center on Philanthropy and Civil Society (PACS) is a global interdisciplinary research center and publisher of the Stanford Social Innovation Review (SSIR). Stanford PACS develops and shares knowledge to improve philanthropy, strengthen civil society, and address societal challenges. By creating a shared space for scholars, students, and practitioners, Stanford PACS informs policy and social innovation, philanthropic investment, and nonprofit practice.
The Effective Philanthropy Learning Initiative is a research program at Stanford PACS led by Paul Brest, as its Principal Investigator, and Erinn Andrews, as its Director. EPLI aims to improve the knowledge of donorsand of intermediaries providing donor education and advisory servicesso they can make more informed, outcome-focused decisions, thereby increasing their philanthropic impact. Position Summary: EPLI seeks an experienced philanthropy professional who will work under the direct supervision of the EPLI Director to lead the Wealth Advisor Toolkit project, a major initiative within EPLI. The Wealth Advisor Toolkit is targeted at Financial Institutions, which are one of four target audiences identified for EPLI's work products. This is a large endeavor which includes research, development of tools & resources, stakeholder engagement & education. The Senior Fellow will be expected to lead this stream of work fairly independently to ensure successful implementation of key programmatic priorities for the toolkit, such as identifying and convening appropriate audiences for user testing, dissemination of results, incorporating feedback, adapting the toolkit for different functional and geographic audiences, and overseeing the development and implementation of the online version of the toolkit. The Senior Fellow will leverage their knowledge of the philanthropy ecosystem to engage ~20 major wealth advisory firms across the United States and abroad and will be interfacing with leadership within these institutions to understand the needs of their advisors, adapt the toolkit to meet those needs, and develop and implement customized training curriculums.
This is a 100% FTE, exempt , one year fixed term position with possibility of renewal based on funding and performance.

In this role, you will:
Independently implement, administer and evaluate day-to-day activities of the unit, function or program by identifying and executing tasks and objectives, making recommendations that impact policies and programs, and assigning resources to achieve the goals of the program.
Collect and analyze data, create reports, review and explain trends; formulate and evaluate alternative solutions and/or recommendations to achieve the goals of the program or function.
Represent the program or function as the key contact and subject matter expert within the department, unit or school. Commit resources and provide information and/or training. May also represent the program or function to external/internal stakeholders and constituencies.
Organize and/or participate in outreach activities that may include developing communications and training, planning/promoting events and/or conferences.
May participate in development of budgets, monitor, and approve expenditures. May perform limited forecasting and provide recommendations that determine the budget.
May direct staff to perform various tasks and assignments. May also supervise staff.
