For 16 years Circle of Care (COC) has provided practical, emotional and financial assistance to Connecticut area families who have had a child diagnosed with cancer through programs and services that meet the unique and challenging needs of pediatric cancer treatment. Our mission differs from other cancer organizations in that we understand that families in treatment need more than medicine to heal, and that hope for a cure feels like a lifetime away. They need help now, and we are there to support them every step of the way.
COC was founded by two women who themselves had a child diagnosed with cancer. 16 years later, COC has reached a crossroads in its growth. Growing demand for our services in the market requires an aggressive approach to raising funds from untapped sources to support our programs. To this end, we are seeking a dynamic, strategic, entrepreneurial Development Director who can help us double our current level of funding over the next couple of years. This new position is an exciting opportunity to deploy your expertise in collaboration with a committed leadership team and Board of Directors knowing that you will touch the lives of hundreds of families in ways that are immeasurable. We know this because we are trusted by our families and are witness to the impact we make every day.
The Development Director will collaborate with both the Executive Director and Board of Directors to secure as yet untapped revenue streams needed to achieve COC’s strategic goals. The Director of Development should understand that this position is primarily, at least initially, about new business development.
Therefore, the successful candidate for this position will be motivated by the hunt…be inspired by the challenge of being instrumental to the short and long term growth and expansion of COC’s programs and services. We will be looking to you to provide innovative and strategic leadership in the planning, implementation, and management of a campaign that includes the contacts you know and the contacts you/we need to know in order to achieve our long term objectives.
