The Erickson School of Aging Studies develops, educates, and creates exceptional leaders in aging with a genuine connection to the real world of the business of aging. The School's vibrant multidisciplinary curriculum infuses aging issues, business management and public policy. Offering B.A., M.A., Accelerated B.A./M.A. and Post-Baccalaureate Certificates, the School connects students to the Nonprofit, For-Profit and Government sectors throughout their Erickson School of Aging Studies experience.
Reporting to the Assistant Dean, the incumbent will manage the business services and operations of the Erickson School of Aging Studies. The incumbent will oversee the day-to-day processes associated with the business and student operation aspects of the School.
This position will serve as the main point of contact for all students and will assist them through their program from application to graduation. Forms and reports for student success will be tracked and processed by this position. This position will be an integral partner to the Program Directors, Recruiters, and Advisors ensuring a seamless and positive experience for all students.
Specific duties include: managing the admissions process and the scholarship process; scheduling and monitoring student progress; connecting students with various departments on campus; processing forms on time and running and analyzing reports for student success through our internal student administration system (SA); overseeing the business operations for the small office; working with the State and Merritt Properties to ensure everything is running smoothly day to day; purchasing items based on the budget; managing accounts receivables and accounts payable; coordinating travel; expense reimbursements and all other monetary transactions for both the state and USMFoundation budgets; running and analyzing budget reports and making recommendations to the Assistant Dean based on trends; managing HR and payroll functions to include new hires, position changes, part-time lecturer contracts, time entry, and will serve as the HR resource for all faculty and staff; and performing other duties as assigned.
Customer service is key to the success of this position. It is critical that this position can work with both internal and external persons and organizations such as HR, Procurement, Parking Services, Registrar, Event and Conference Services, Enrollment, OIA, Provost's Office, USMFoundation Employees, Merritt Properties, and event vendors and caterers, etc.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelors degree is required.
One to three years of experience in business operations or student support; higher education experience is preferred
Excellent people skills and the ability to provide superior customer service
MS Office proficient; especially in Excel; preference will be given to applicants with Peoplesoft experience
Demonstrate clear and positive communication and organizational skills
Analytical and data driven; detail oriented; must be able to run and analyze reports
