Episcopal High School seeks an experienced communications professional to complete its four-person office. The office develops and implements a communications strategy that conveys the School’s unique character and mission, builds the School’s brand, and strengthens relationships with and among the School’s various constituencies.
The assistant/associate director is a full-time, year-round position. This individual is responsible for planning, writing, designing, and managing strong and engaging content that supports the School’s mission and goals across all forms of print and digital media. The successful candidate will be a strategic and clear thinker with experience working with various partners to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Ideal candidates will be highly motivated to do excellent work, support Episcopal’s mission, and be part of a school community.

Conceives, writes, edits, and manages the production of various print materials - including brochures, flyers, postcards, etc. - and digital products such as e-newsletters and special web pages.
Handles graphic design for small print and digital projects.
Writes and edits copy for print collateral (magazines, annual reports, admissions materials) and the School’s website as well as broadcast, social, and external media.
Reports the news of the School through features, news reports, and general writing to inform internal and external audiences.
Acts as one of several in-house photographers to cover School life and events.
Supports digital and social-media efforts.
A bachelor’s degree or higher in journalism, English, communications, or related field.
At least five years of relevant, full-time experience in independent schools, higher education, nonprofits, or a public relations or marketing office.
Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign and Photoshop.
Expertise managing print and digital projects from conception to completion.
Proven skills as a writer, editor, and proofreader.
Experience working with commercial printers.
Experience with web-content management systems.
