Proactive Community Services is seeking an experienced part-time Grant Writer to support the execution of a grants revenue plan, including solicitation of funding opportunities from corporations, foundations, and governmental sources. Responsibilities will include proposal and report writing, grant submissions, Letter of Inquiries (LOI’s), funding prospect research, annual grant calendar, assist with attending informal funder sessions, and other writing tasks as needed. The Grant Writer will also assist with managing aspects of the post-award responsibilities including some grant reporting. The incumbent must have excellent communication, presentation and writing skills; experience in nonprofit grant writing/fundraising, and a passion for PCS’ mission.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Research and analyze prospective federal, state, corporate, and private and public foundations funding opportunities for general operations, and capital support and programs.
Conduct case-building research/analysis of current demographic trends, data and information on community issues and trends of the communities that Proactive Community Services serves.
Maintain an annual calendar of grant opportunities that includes monthly schedule of pending funding applications, and post-award reports that is shared with senior staff. This including an up to date running lists of priority grants for submission.
Maintain financial tracking of grants submitted to funding sources, including grants awarded and funded amounts.
Work closely with program staff to conceptualize, write and/or edit requests for funding, budgets, program evaluation data that reflects program goals, activities, outcomes and funder expectations, and carry out the documentation required to prepare and submit grants and reports.
Write corporate sponsorship packages for special events.
Orient appropriate staff and any community partners to plan program goals, activities, and outcomes, including deliverables and outcomes upon grant award.
Assist with cultivating and maintaining relationships with funders and funder prospects (corporate and foundation project officers).
Assist with the development of the annual report and other writing projects.
Qualifications and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree a plus.
Experience writing, revising, and submitting grant proposals to a variety of funders. At least three to five years preferred.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent technology knowledge, including Word, Excel, Adobe, Google suite, and grant management software.
Excellent project management skills and the ability to take primary responsibility for tasks, including completing them in a timely manner with limited supervision.
Extremely organized with exceptional attention to details and deadlines.
Strong research skills.
Ability to work creatively and strategically independently and as part of a team.
Telecommuting is allowed.
