1) Execute strategic objectives of the Career Development team within Alumni Engagement & Annual Giving (AEAG), and Alumni Relations & Development (ARD) to meet campaign goals, through collaboration with and support of colleagues.
2) Streamline internal and external communications between the University, alumni and staff.
3) Maintain calendars and timelines to coordinate University efforts supporting alumni career development in order to maximize alumni engagement.
4) Provide customer service and interface with alumni volunteers to manage expectations, questions and concerns.
5) Use the alumni database to account for individual visit and contact activity.
6) Consider participation giving goals and solicit gifts within assigned area.
7) Work within the Career Development team to support alumni who are in the process of developing their careers or rejoining the work force after a break.
8) Provide new program options to attract unengaged alumni, encourage an environment where engaged alumni are motivated to return to our programs and continue to enhance existing career services.
9) Recruit alumni to be presenters for events based on their job skills and/or professions.
10) Manage affinity groups based on shared industries to reestablish contact with the University.
11) Respond to phone and email queries regarding services in a prompt and courteous manner.
12) Work closely with internal colleagues on the "Lifelong Learning and Education" and the "Events and University Programs" teams to collaborate on shared projects.
13) Partner with colleagues from Career Advancement, UChicagoGRAD and those related to affinity groups from "Chicago Careers In" among others to support their programming and engage their populations with related programs.
14) Manage reporting, record keeping and data management.
15) Use data management tools in order to review and analyze pertinent information.
16) Prepare correspondence, reports, spreadsheets, informational materials and presentations.
17) Edit and proofread high-level communications by ensuring consistency, grammar, punctuation, usage, spelling and style of these materials.
18) Coordinate with colleagues to complete communications containing complex and specialized subject matter.
19) Coordinate content maintenance of University of Chicago Community Online (UCCO) websites and social media.
20) Train and assist alumni in maintaining online platforms appropriately.
21) Work with colleagues to implement goals and objectives regarding event participation, attendance, communication and event logistics.
22) Support manager, leaders, alumni, faculty, parents and other volunteers with all aspects of career engagement events, including outreach, data entry and accurate records.
23) Manage volunteer recruitment, training and recognition projects.
24) Develop and maintain training materials.
25) Assist with online leadership resource page, conduct surveys, and oversee regional volunteer stewardship processes.
26) Liaise between internal teams to ensure efficiency in programs and overall satisfaction in volunteer experience.
27) Manage, track, and code inquiries and interactions with alumni resulting from communications that focus on increasing participation, revenue and engagement.
28) Track and record volunteer activity and event attendance.
29) Seek opportunities for professional development that will enhance job performance, including building networks within the University and with colleagues at peer institutions.
