NAFSA: Association of International Educators is the world’s largest nonprofit association dedicated to international education and exchange, working to advance policies and practices that ensure a more interconnected, peaceful world today and for generations to come. Whether you are majoring in humanities, the sciences, the arts, business, or engineering, our paid, part-time internship program offers current university students the chance to get inside the most comprehensive association of professionals committed to advancing international higher education.
NAFSA provides several opportunities to learn and develop professionally. Not only will you have the ability to leave a lasting impact on the organization during your internship, you will develop your professional network, meet amazing mentors, make lasting connections, and learn from our leadership team.
No specific credential or work experience is required; however, applicants should have an interest in NAFSA’s mission and in global education. Interns will be expected to contribute to the programs, products, and services that NAFSA produces for its members and the global community. As an intern, you could be involved with:
Internships work with staff teams on a variety of projects and programs. By submitting your application to this posting, you will be considered for all open positions. You will have the opportunity to express preferences during the application process. Opportunities exist in multiple areas such as public policy, media relations/advocacy, education abroad and international student areas, career center operations, IT, meeting/event logistics, or supporting member leadership and professional development efforts. Your specific role, team, and project(s) will be determined throughout the interview and onboarding process. Candidates will be selected based on the best fit with their background and experience.
In addition to an hourly wage, interns are eligible to receive academic credit from their university or college for their internships. Credit arrangements should be made in advance with your institution and academic advisor. If there are special terms, conditions or requirements associated with earning credit, you will need to discuss these with NAFSA’s Human Resources office before you arrive.
