Adjunct Instructor of Planning and Development Case Study

The USC Sol Price School of Public Policy invites applicants for an adjunct faculty position in the area of planning and development. The successful candidate should possess at least a Masterâs degree with strong training in planning, real estate or development. A Masterâs degree may be acceptable with appropriate experience. The candidate will be able to teach a graduate level intensive planning course that is taught in a case study format. This is a project-centered course that builds on projects prepared by the students in PLUS 660 and draws upon issues studied in PLUS 661.Preference will be given to candidates with prior teaching experience and excellent teaching evaluations.
PLUS 662: This is a project-centered course building on projects prepared by the students in PLUS 660 and drawing upon issues studied in PLUS 661.Â Two features distinguish this type of project presentation from more typical academic student projects.Â One is the short time frame with only one and one-half days to prepare and the other is the emphasis on intersectional issues.Â By using preexisting projects prepared by the same students, this intensive exercise offers an opportunity to explore the issues rather than merely the facts of each project.Â In so doing, it is deliberately focused Iâm bringing to bear out over the concepts drawn from both the private sector (PLUS 660) and the public sector (PLUS 661)
Adjunct instructor responsibilities include delivery of course content and grading. Each instructor is expected to provide students with a syllabus outlining the course goals, schedule and all requirements for the course under the direction of the Department Chair.
