Appointment: Regular, full-time (1.0 FTE) position
The social media and digital content manager is an integral member of the Office of Communications content team, responsible for executing content strategy across key channels, including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and website in support of brand and business objectives. This person will have a successful track record of effectively engaging with and cultivating diverse audiences across social platforms, driving brand awareness and engagement.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
Plan and execute paid and organic social media strategy across key channels, including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn in support of brand and business objectives.
Conceptualize and produce dynamic content, as well as write and edit all social copy, maintaining brand look, feel, and tone.
Manage and maintain social content calendar and posting.
Partner with associate editorial director to grow and moderate Puget Sound's social community, managing all responses to comments and queries in a timely and engaging manner.
Identify and cultivate Puget Sound's fan base. Propose new, innovative social campaigns and initiatives to deepen relationships amongst fans.
Establish the right KPI dashboards and reports, calculating and reporting out on these metrics in monthly reviews, identifying underlying trends and actionable insights to continually improve.
Proactively develop best practices and standards to ensure we can scale our social media strategy, including evaluating and integrating any software tools to improve analytics.
Supervisory Responsibilities Reports to Associate Editorial Director. May supervise work-study student as needed. Budget Responsibilities
Creates and works within budgets, which are managed by the Senior Editor and Director of Content.
Successful candidates will be self-driven creative thinkers who can create original content and amplify the impact of that content by shaping it for various audiences to drive engagement and build community. Strong, creative writing and editing skills are essential, plus:
3 years of social media experience with nonprofit and/or college and university experience preferred. Demonstrated ability to drive brand engagement with audiences.
Strong storyteller with excellent written and visual communication skills
Self-starter with a creative mindset that seeks to understand audience needs and motivations
Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently
Collaborative with the ability to build strong relationships with internal partners
Experience analyzing metrics to drive actionable next steps
A desire to flourish in fast-paced environment with an entrepreneurial spirit
Ability to respectfully work, communicate and provide leadership within a diverse campus community.
Compensation and Benefits: Decisions about starting salaries are made based on the extent and relatedness of the candidate's education and experience and on internal equity and market considerations.
This position is exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
